ARTIST's STATEMENT:

Visions come to me, behind the red curtain.  Images and memories flow, informing the character of my lines.  My torch, a crayon made of fire.  Graceful intersecting arcs.  Gentle waves.  Curls.  Fractal edges.  Jagged spikes.  Acceleration.  Hesitation.

I wrestle a 50 lb. sheet of steel onto the welding table.  With heat, I draw swirls and curves that fill the plane, remembering.  With lightning, I carve.  I bend and twist, pulling a two dimensional form into three.

Often, when I’m done, I know what it is, but rarely before.
