ARTIST's STATEMENT:

I am a Dutch, Brooklyn based artist, who works with ceramics in combination with natural materials like wood, linen, leather, paper, wool and hessian.

My work is grounded in a fascination for the anatomy of living things, the essential individual elements that make up the whole. My sculptures are made-up of many - sometimes thousands - individual ceramic pieces, forming through patterns and repetition, intricate surfaces.

The trance-like process involved in creating the works often takes months.

What may sound foreign to some people, I don’t mind at all.

I enjoy getting lost in a deconstructed reality of the everyday.
